Sonya Perkins celebrated her third CD, “Dream A Little Dream” at the Metropolitan Room. This gig was played to a full house. She was joined by a terrific team of highly acclaimed musicians: musical director Bob Albanese (p), John Benitez (b), Dwayne ‘Cook’ Broadnax (d) and Josh Evans (tpt)…Her great autobiographical comic bit of her transition of psychotherapist to jazz vocalist set to the classic, “I Will Survive” had the crowd roaring.
